Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Government, in his welcome remark, praised the initiative as a fulfillment of the 3R Mantra—Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery. “What we are witnessing today is the materialization of a dream: building a digitally empowered workforce and inspiring a mindset that will transform governance,” he said. He described the Imo Digital City as a cornerstone of the state’s digital investment strategy, aimed at attracting both local and foreign opportunities. They commended the Governor’s unflinching support for Imo workers. The General Manager of Imo Digital City Ltd, Mrs. Stella Ezenduka, welcomed the guests, followed by a presentation by Mr. Primus Amaefule on the vision and future prospects of the facility. Staff members, including Chibuike Mebuim, facilitated sessions on computer appreciation, supported by curated video tutorials. A defining moment of the retreat was the Governor’s empowerment of all Permanent Secretaries with official laptops and operational vehicles to enhance service delivery. Additionally, 30 Data Analysts—graduates of the Skillup Imo Program—received automatic employment into the Imo State Civil Service and were deployed across ministries to strengthen data-driven governance.
